The Department of Agriculture, MoAL is pleased to share the Agriculture Highlights for the fiscal year 2024–2025. During this period, the department achieved significant milestones that will contribute to the country’s food and nutrition security. The first year of the 13th Five Year Plan (FY 2024–25) has seen remarkable progress, laying strong foundations for long-term agriculture transformation.
Key achievements include the successful implementation of the Million Fruit Tree Plantation – Phase IV, expansion of irrigation and mechanization infrastructure, protection of farmland from wildlife, promotion of innovative farming models, rollout of the nationwide Farmer Registration System, research and release of new crop varieties, and initiatives to enhance climate resilience and strengthen rural livelihoods through research and technologies.
The Department extends its sincere thanks to the research centres, central programs, and Dzongkhags for their continuous support and collaboration, and looks forward to their continued support toward the successful achievement of the 13th Five Year Plan in the coming years.
