Regional Conference on agroecological methods to sustainably transform agri-food systems in South Asia

“From Green “From Green Revolution to Green Evolution”

The global community is grappling with a series of interconnected challenges ranging from climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, to regional conflicts and supply chain disruptions that increases uncertainty, undermine sustainable development, and place our mother earth at growing risk.

To address these converging issues, a green, sustainable, and inclusive agri-food transformation is needed more than ever. At the heart of this transformation lies agroecological approaches to realizing climate resilient agriculture. A holistic Agroecological approaches is increasingly acknowledged as credible pathways to transform the conventional small holder farming system towards sustainability and resilience through integration of ecological, economic and social principles.

As part of the #GreenEvolution regional project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Welthungerhilfe’s Bangladesh, Nepal, and India chapters in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock , Royal Government of Bhutan is hosting a regional conference in Thimphu from 29-31 July 2025 to deliberate transformative actions in the SAARC countries.
