Capacity Building on Weather and Climate Services for Agriculture Planning

The National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology and the Department of Agriculture jointly hosted a capacity-building program on Weather and Climate Services for Agricultural Planning in Phuentsholing from March 14 -16th March, 2024. Supported by the NAP Readiness Project UNDP, this collaborative initiative highlights the crucial role of partnerships in tackling complex issues like climate change. Agriculture Extension Officers play an important role in disseminating climate information and providing support to farmers. About 41 extension officials representing both the Dzongkhag and Gewog Agriculture Sector participated in this important training program. The program envisions to bolster their capacity in utilizing climate information for informed decision-making and efficient resource management.
